BIRKENSTOCK makes your feet feel good
Since 1774, the original BIRKENSTOCK footbed has offered the ultimate comfort by moulding to your foot shape. When your individual foot’s anatomy is supported during each step, you’ll feel the effect throughout your entire body. The result: Relief for your feet, knees and hips, a more relaxed and straighter back and feet that stay healthy, allowing you to feel truly good.
BIRKENSTOCK pride themselves on understanding anatomy and the perfect fit. This includes:
- Freedom to move with stability
- Perfect size (not to big or small)
- Just the right width
BIRKENSTOCK makes you feel good about the environment
BIRKENSTOCK understand that protection of natural resources is paramount. They work to improve production processes, products, packaging and logistics. Thanks to their durability, their products are sustainable. BIRKENSTOCK was one of the first shoe manufacturers in the world to use water-soluble and solvent-free adhesives almost exclusively in its production. In recent years, they have reduced the proportion of adhesives that contain solvents. The adhesives usedare water-based, reducing the strain on the environment and also creating better working conditions.
One of the most important raw materials, the cork layer of BIRKENSTOCK, is sourced from trees that are harvested multiple times , every 7 to 9 years. This is done without causing harm to the tree.
- Natural and sustainable

They also use biodegradable materials, such as polyurethane. For those looking for animal-free products, they have their own proprietary synthetic material Birko-Flor®. Made of the best materials, it stands out for its high quality: gentle on the skin, tear-proof and easy to care for. Thanks to the gentle production process, the materials retain their positive natural qualities.
